Books that take both science and humanity seriously
Techno-thrillers and stories about family, health, and resilience — published under the Cypress Quill Press imprint.
I'm an author, podcaster, and maker of practical tools for focused, sustainable living. My background is in operational practice — work that taught me to take both careful science and ordinary human limits seriously, and to be sceptical of advice that sounds good but does not survive a hard week.
Cypress Quill Media is where I bring those threads together: novels that try to earn their tension through patience and detail, a podcast that prefers compact episodes over heroic ones, and digital tools designed for steady work rather than productivity theatre.
I write from the UK. Most of what I publish is sceptical of hustle culture and gentle on the reader. If that sounds like the kind of company you would like to keep, you are very welcome here.
Techno-thrillers and stories about family, health, and resilience — published under the Cypress Quill Press imprint.
Conversations on the science and craft of a focused, sustainable life — calm hosting and compact episodes.
Digital planners and templates designed for steady, lasting work — not the latest productivity trend.
The starting point for everything published here was a question I kept running into, in clinic and in life: what does it look like when a careful person tries to live well with the body and the mind and the time they actually have? Most popular advice answers a different, easier question — what would a person with no constraints and lots of motivation do? — and the gap between those two is where most useful work lives.
I started writing essays first, then planners for myself that turned into planners for friends, then fiction, then the podcast. The voice across all of it is the same: science where it earns its place, stories where they make a thing real, and tools that make ordinary days a little more workable.
